Our coaching staff consists of players who have played and/or coached the game of baseball or softball at a high level. All instruction is conducted by college coaches, high school coaches, former professional players or current college players.
By us having a strict standard, you are ensured of correct fundamentals being taught at all times. Also, each camper is exposed to terrific role models. Our coaches have achieved at a high level as athletes and citizens. Our coaches get to know the campers well and are a wonderful influence. At Grand Slam Camps we are proud of our coaches who make our baseball camp and softball camp instruction second to none.
Each camp location provides leading roles by the following:
Dave Walker - Coach Walker played college baseball at Central Washington U. and earned his degree in Education. He currently teaches Physical Education on Bainbridge Island. Coach Walker leads our Kitsap County camps and has been with us since 1996.
Kate Zender - Coach Zender leads our softball instruction. She played college fastpitch softball at Seattle University and earned her master’s degree in Education. She teaches Math and coaches softball at Bonney Lake HS. and also is head coach at Mountain View Middle School.
Kyle Moore - Coach Moore teaches math at Bremerton High School. He was a De Sales High School stand-out athlete and graduated from Gonzaga University in 2008.
Mark Zender - Coach Zender played his college ball at Seattle University where he earned his degree in Education. He currently teaches Marketing and is head coach at Kentwood HS

Additional Staff - The remainder of our staff is made up of high school coaches & current college players who have achieved academically as well as athletically. They bring a unique skill set and experience and are a key to our philosophy of positive role modeling.
